Steps2Everest was founded by Rhys Morton, who himself is attempting to summit Mount Everest in 2011 to raise much needed money for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.
Rhys came up with the idea of Steps2Everest as he wanted to create something that is truly unique which will give young people the opportunity to experience a life changing adventure that will challenge them to the limit and also instill in them a great sense of satisfaction knowing that they have played a pivotal role in helping and supporting participating charities.
We like to think that our trips are different, due to the way we encourage team members to bond and work together as a close knit team. Our other unique quality is that we actively involve the team, not only in the planning and preparations of the trip, but also how the adventure challenge progresses. This enhanced involvement in the challenge creates an increased level of camaraderie amongst team members which induces leadership skills and allows team members to blossom and thrive.
Rhys wants to give young people and adults the opportunity to experience firsthand the life changing potential that visiting Nepal and experiencing the Nepalese culture, the rugged beauty and primitive lives these happy and humble people live can have.
Taking part in the Steps2Everest challenge can have a dramatic impact on so many different levels of your life. Many people who have participated in such challenges have expressed that they return home feeling exhilarated, more confident in their abilities and what they can accomplish and a huge sense of achievement. Probably the most interesting of all, is that they return home with a new vibrant outlook on life and a new appreciation for the life and comforts they have taken for granted for so long.
